The Cummins diesel torque at the 1600-2200-engine rpm range challenges the transmission's clutch packs. You can improve the clutch holding power by resetting the hydraulic pressure but this can result in poor shifting patterns, setting of trouble code lights and heat build up.
BD eliminates clutch slippage, reduces operating temperatures and increases the transmission life by adding 25% more clutch surface than the stock design. Only the best quality clutch material is used and heavy-duty band apply struts are installed. The front pump bushing is matched to the torque convertor hub to eliminate internal leaks. New electronic solenoids are tested and valve body control functions are set to your power, gear ratio and load. The special BD valve body is built with second gear lock up and can be activated with a BD TorqLoc or AutoLoc.
Each transmission kit is tested on our transmission dynamometer.
Our transmissions are famous! They were in the trucks that achieved the longest sled pull at the Tulare 2000 Diesel Pull off and in the fastest diesel truck in English Town 11.81 seconds in the 1/4 mile. These trucks weigh 6200 lbs. and are developing over 1000 ft-lbs of torque!
